The Parable of Office Confusion

1.        And one day in the office a lady with the name of Lilly walked in.
2.       She was here for the job that had once been Steve's.
3.       And as Lilly walked in with her belongings everyone sitting in the cubicles stopped and watched her.
4.       And a few of her new coworkers looked friendly, when others looked extremely angry.
5.       And as the days went on the misanthrope coworkers blamed her for Steve losing his job.
6.       And the days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months.
7.       And as time went on, they alleged that she was coming into work late and not doing the job that was assigned to her.
8.       And Lilly tried to slough off all of the incorrect accusations from her coworkers.
9.       And one day her boss, Mr. Johnson, heard what Lilly’s coworkers were saying about her.
10.    He decided that he needed to call her into his office and have a talk about her work ethic.
11.     And when Lilly was called in to Mr. Johnson’s office she thought that he was calling her in to congratulate her on the account that she had just closed the day before.
12.    And as Lilly took a seat in his office she could not believe the words he was saying.
13.    Mr. Johnson said he had heard that Lilly had repeatedly come into work late. He also said that she was not the doing the job that she had been hired for.
14.    And when he was finishing his tirade he said that she had 60 days to show him that she deserved the job she had.
15.    And as Lilly walked out of the Mr. Johnson’s office she was determined to show everyone that they underestimated her.
16.     And as the days went on Lilly stayed late and worked harder than she ever had at any job.
17.    And the days tuned into weeks and before she knew it there were only two weeks left in her 60 days.
18.    And when the deadline was only a week away Mr. Johnson looked at all the reports of the accounts closed in the last 4 months.
19.    And what he saw greatly shocked him.
20.   And he realized that Lilly had closed more accounts in the last 5 months than any other employee.
21.    And the day that the 60 days were over Mr. Johnson called Lilly into his office to tell her what her fate was.
22.   And when Lilly walked in and sat down, what Mr. Johnson told her she never dreamed of him saying to her.
23.   And when they were finished Mr. Johnson called a meeting for all the employees.
24.   And here Mr. Johnson told everyone that Lilly was one of the best workers in the office, and had closed more accounts in the last 5 months than any of them had.
25.    And as Mr. Johnson was saying this, the employees that had lied and made things up about Lilly realized just what they had done.

26.   When they meeting was over Lilly’s coworkers came up to her and apologized about judging her before they knew her.
